Deepak Yadav, accused of murdering his daughter Radhika Yadav—a 25-year-old national-level tennis player and coach—was produced in a Gurugram court on Thursday after his arrest.
According to Gurugram Police, Deepak Yadav, 49, shot his daughter at their residence in Sector 57 following a long-standing dispute over her decision to run a tennis academy. Radhika, who was reportedly managing the academy independently, had faced repeated objections from her father.
Gurugram Police PRO Sandeep Kumar confirmed, “Her father, Deepak Yadav, shot her dead using a licensed revolver. He has confessed to the crime during initial questioning. He was upset with her running the tennis academy and had asked her several times to shut it down.”
The police revealed that three bullets were fired during the incident. The weapon has been seized, and a further forensic investigation is underway.
Sources also indicated that the accused had allegedly pressured Radhika to remove a music video she had posted on social media, further straining their relationship.
Police teams have visited the crime scene, and the investigation continues to explore other potential motives or contributing factors.
